Lopez Island Retreat, located on a remote bay on one of the quieter San Juan Islands, is an architectural exploration aimed at reconnecting us with nature. The project is divided into two components: a communal space and individual stone units. The expansive common space serves as the activity hub, offering visitors a central area for relaxation and interaction while appreciating the surrounding natural elements. The individual stone shelters, which provide sleeping accommodations, are integrated into the cliff's edge, built around existing rock formations to preserve the landscape and allow visitors to share the space with the pre-existing natural environment.
